This Is Halloween

Happy Halloween dears!!! :)

I have a fun day planned ahead of me...I'm having some close friends over, where we will trick or treat then stay up late watching scary movies!

My Costume is pretty average...all the things I wanted to dress up as basically showed wayy too much skin (Does anyone else feel how annoying this is...No one wears clothes anymore!!)

So...since I am a good girl ;) I decided to just gather up a bunch of things I have here at home and make a costume!

1. Funeral Veil from Hot topic
2. My Lolita dress
3. A Lace arm-warmer
4. mary-jane ballet flats
5. Lots of dark makeup

I haven't quite thought of a name...but I suppose if someone asks me, I could say a Widow...Or someone at a funeral? haha

Oh! I have also made a halloween playlist for me and my friends to listen to as we munch on candy :D

So this is a little gift to you! I've added lots of stuff from The Nightmare Before Christmas, a bit from an anime show I Like (Vamire Knight rocks!!) and the main theme for The Corpse Bride (which is also the main song on my blog)

So, tell me what YOU are doing on this fine halloween day?!

It Was Only A Kiss

One of the best music videos I have ever seen!

It goes perfectly with the song...and something about it is just soooo magical...the costumes, The way the lead singer (Brandon Flowers) looks when he sings. He has an amazing presence!

Isn't is interesting how they made the girl look so innocent? With all the makeup, and the hair...and yet somhow you can just tell she's not innocent at all...

By far one of my favorite videos of all time...It feels like a dream. It's so symbolic. It brings back 80s music with a modern twist...which is genius.

I used to hear this song on the radio alot. But after listening to it over and over for the past hour, It's taken over me...and after seeing the video...It's like finding a whole new world.

"Jealousy
turning saints into the sea

Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
'Cause I'm Mr Brightside"

Lullaby For A Stormy Night

"little child, be not afraid
though rain pounds harshly against the glass
like an unwanted stranger,
there is no danger
I am here tonight..."

"little child, be not afraid
though thunder explodes and a lightning flash
illuminates your tear-stained face
I am here tonight..."

"...and someday you'll know
that nature is so...
the same rain that draws you near me
falls on rivers and land, on forests and sand
makes the beautiful world that you'll see
in the morning..."

"for you know, once even I was a little child,
and I was afraid
but a gentle someone always came
to dry all my tears, trade sweet sleep for fears
and to give a kiss goodnight...

well now I am grown
and these years have shown that rain's a part of how life goes
but it's dark and it's late so I'll hold you and wait
til your frightened eyes do close..."

"In the morning...everythings fine in the morning..."

(Lyrics from: Vienna Teng-
Lullaby For A Stormy Night)

Ten Million Fireflies

I had a dream that My mom was letting me fly out to Canada all alone to see a super special exclusive Fall Out Boy concert...I was wearing the most colorful outfit ever...I think it was something like a bit of a puffy skirt with a rainbow striped shirt and my Fall Out Boy shirt I got from the last concert on top of it.

Pete Wentz (the cool bassist :D ) was on my plane somehow...and he kept smiling and staring at me...then I talked to him very casually...

That was simply a small part of my dream...lots more happened but If I told it all, It would possibly take up a very very long post...

So, Yesterday after returning from a fabulous weekend with Bri...I realized that I am quite sick...

Today was supposed to be holiday from school...but of course the ONE time I get sick it has to be on a day off...just my luck, huh?

But since I will be home pn this beautiful Monday, what can I do for fun? Well Of course...drink my tea and listen to music!

so what music has been keeping me alive lately?

WATCH THIS WHOLE VIDEO AND FOCUS ON THE AMAZING LYRICS! seriously...It's soooo beautiful. Owl City is very unique and fantastic...I just recently bought his newest album, Ocean Eyes, from Target...go get one. It includes this song and many others.

If you like him, check out his songs: Vanilla Twilight, Fuzzy Blue Lights, Meteor Shower, and Rainbow Veins :) I linked each of them to a youtube video of the song!

So, I want you all to tell me what dreams You've been having lately and What music You've been into! Always suggest new music to me so I can feature it! And you know I love finding new artists! :)

Yes, I have Returned...

I'M BACK! yes, here I am darlings!

My absence was due to the horrible nightmare known as School...and many other things :p but now that I've settled in and its not really so nightmarish anymore, I'm glad to be back :D

So, with a new school year, comes a new schedule...and mine is very interesting indeed!

1. Language Arts
2. Advanced Drama
3. Math
4. Science
5. French
6. Once Apon A Time*
7. Social Staudies
8. Tech Theater II

*once apon a time is a class ALL about fairytales, and different authors and versions of fairytales :) Amazing, right?

No cute guys this year...but some very interesting people. 8th frade is scary...so many labels, so much peer preessure, so many people doing things that make me look way too innocent. It's scary for sure.

But I suppose this is what 8th grade is all about...hook-ups, break-ups, friends, pressure, tears...like one of those cheesy teen drama shows! But without those things we wouldn't have the smiles afterwards...so I'm glad :)

Also, for the new school year...I've been adding stuff to my room...lots of stuff! My bulliten board is so full now! Remember when I first posted about it? It barely had anything on it! Now, I can't find any room to put new pictures on :D Oh, and now my walls have loads of new posters on them!

and now since I must leave you...I have some homework to do...I'll leave you with a little gift:

NeverShoutNever is an unsigned artist who is simply AMAZING! His music has a very sweet feel to it and he's all about living free and being happy :) This video can turn any bad day into the best day ever! Because...you're only as tall as your heart will let you be, and only as small as the world will make you seem...make everyday count darlings!!!

so, tell me how this new school year has been going for you!

(by the way, be sure to keep up with me on twitter!! http://twitter.com/Lenore_lolita)

Crashing Waves and Purple Nail Polish

Hello! I got back from the beach today...and it was fantastic!

I stayed at two different Beaches In Alexandria. Cleopatra lived there! At the first beach, I stayed with some family from my Dad's side, including all my cousins, and we had a blast!

The second one, is one i went to since I was about 2...we stayed for a few weeks, then the past two days one of my best friends stayed with me! We swam, and of course, stayed on the internet.

We came home today, and I feel a Bit sick :( I woke up very nauseaus and felt that way now and then through-out the day. But I'm very glad to be home In my apartment in Cairo with my beautiful city lights :)

By the way, I have been obsessed with a few things lately...

In music, I have been obsessing over Laura Marling (Of course!!) And Carter Hulsey! Now, if you read my blog you MUST know laura marling, In fact the song playing right now on my playlist (The first one, Ghosts) is by her :) My amazing mommy, ordered me a whole bunch of albums off Amazon, and one of them is her debut album: Alas I Cannot Swim :)

And Carter Hulsey is just so fantastic...I love his songs Mariana and Dumbo with a passion.

Now, when it comes to style, I'm very much obsessing over Purple nail polish and HUGE sunglasses :)

Usually in summer, when I'm always barefoot and at the pool or beach, I love to have a pedicure, and I ALWAYS have a manicure. And I love a dark, shiny, fun shade of purple

And who doesn't love huge sunglasses? Even though they are far too huge for my face :)

Oh! Big thanks to Sprinkle for helping me out with the new layout and style of my blog! She is just born for this stuff :) wuv you!

Music Video for friday!

Although most of you must have already seen it, I love this video! So much fun, amazing song, and it just makes me want to make me wake up in vegas :)

See ya later sweethearts!

Boston-day 2

Finally, the long awaited Boston day 2 post!!

Once again, I woke up to the sounds and sights of the city!! With all the buildings and opens skys filled with possibilities!

Today, we went for brunch at this resteraunt...but I cannot seem to remember the name....It was fabulous and very old fashioned in a small little brick building!!

But, while we had to wait to get seated...we stopped by Johnny Cupcakes. I reccomend this shop to anyone who loves cupcakes...well cupcake clothing! The whole shop, was Shirts with cupcakes on them folded up on trays in fake ovens and freezers...as if they were cupcakes!

The story behind this awesome place, is a college boy named Johnny, who was bored and started making shirts with cupcakes on them. Everyone on campus LOVED them, so he sold them. Later, he started a shop: Johnny Cupcakes. Quite a lovely place

so, after a got a shirt that said "Boston" with icing and sprinkles on it...we went back into the resteraunt to enjoy a fantastic brunch!

After that, we simply walked around the beautiful city...We went on the subway!!! and we went shopping at Urban Outfitters (I love the many things you can fiind there) I bought a lovely dress

After walking around EVEN more...we found some interesting street shows! We then walked through a place with so much food, you could nit imagine.

then finally, we saw the harbour. AMAZING!!! Blue water...and on the other side...more building!! If I did live in Boston...I would walk there with my music each day :)
That night, we saw the Blue Man Group!! Amazing, I cant even begin to explain, just awesome music, comedy and unusual stunts...in a small little theater you find in the alley ways like the movies!!! I reccomend this show to EVERYONE. Most amazing show you will see...but I'll warn you, dont get dressed up, Its messy ;)

After the Fantastical show...we walked around China Town, which I thought was amazing! Untill we finally found a great chienese place (out of china town though, haha) and we enjoyed it vey much!

On the way home...I cherished the lights and noises of the beautiful city, because I knew, that would be my last night there...

ahhhhh...memories <3

Being Indie and loving everything!!

"There's a house across the river but alas I cannot swimAnd a garden of such beauty that the flowers seem to grinThere's a house across the river but alas I cannot swimI'll live my life regretting that I never jumped in"

-Alas I Cannot Swim (by Laura Marling)

one of the many songs I listened to while having my little frenzy of listening to lovely, unique guitar music in my garage :)

oh, what an Indie day I had! First I woke up and watched Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist. Loved it!!! My fave was Norah's best friend, Caroline as well as the dudes in the van, especially the asian one (forgot his name...hehe)

then i had to clean up my room, whic took forever :P

then, I had my friend Samantha over (she lives in my neighborhood) and we ate Cheerios and Ramen Noodles while watching family guy

After she left, i cleaned out my drawer and gathered up my stuff and went to my garage and danced around to Laura Marling, Noah And The Whale, and Lenka
Then me, my mom, and my brother walked to this Mexican place by my house and had a lovely dinner :)
I must say it was a fantastic end to a fantastic weekend, especially after seeing Fall Out Boy on friday!! We drove 3 hours and the concert was amazing! I really rocked out, and I think Pete Wentz looked at me once or twice when I jumped on top of this seat and screamed. haha
I seriously cried when they came on stage, it was a dream come true.
well, i must go get ready for bed now, so I'll leave you with some pictures of my scrap book and my bulliten board, just a couple of the things that inspire me :)

ps- Boston-Day 2 will be the next post!! <3

Staying Lost

I'm warm and happy. I'm in my own world, that I so carefully weaved out of my deepest dreams. Soft sounds of lullabye music is what keeps it alive.

"Little child, be not afraidThe storm clouds mask your beloved moon. And it's candlelight beams, still keep pleasant dreams. I am here tonight"

This music cannot end. For it is always playing in my heart. The only trace of the outside world is the light shining in from the bottom of the door. I'm afraid to look at it, or to go towards it, for if I do, the light will shatter this fragile world...I'll keep it a while longer. I'll lay my head down, and let the lullabye play.

"It's hard to let it go..."

You Show Me how to see...that nothing's whole, and nothing is boken...

In You and I, Theres a new land...My sanctuary, my sanctuary....
Where fears and lies, melt away...

Hold me...

Whatever lies beyond this morning, is a little later on
regardless of warnings, the future doesn't scare me at all...Nothing's like before

When you walk away you dont hear me say "Please, oh baby, don't go"
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
Its hard to let it go...

Lyrics from the songs of the amazing: Utada Hikaru ((my most favorite singer/ songwriter))

songs: Sanctuary, Simple And Clean

This is my little musical watch. It plays We Wish You A Merry Christmas and it's very beautiful. I try to let it sing me to sleep but I'm unable to keep still. I'm far too reckless and energetic, but I think that somehow thats a good thing, It makes a person more interesting. I'm always ready for adventure or whatever life brings.
The Watch opens up and has a little train in the snow that goes round and round. Sometimes I wish that I could ride away on that train, to Santa's workshop, or to a Secret Somewhere. I have a daydream about a train station in the sky...
I have posted the rules from the Secret Fairy Wishes..but I'm about to do it....hopefully today. Yesterday and unexpected event ocurred. But I cannot wait.
Almost Christmas!!! I must check the mail...my dress should be here. Please? I can't wait to wear it! I'll be just like a doll...and I'll curl my hair, and drink tea.
Merry Christmas!
xoxo
