I have a fun day planned ahead of me...I'm having some close friends over, where we will trick or treat then stay up late watching scary movies!
My Costume is pretty average...all the things I wanted to dress up as basically showed wayy too much skin (Does anyone else feel how annoying this is...No one wears clothes anymore!!)
So...since I am a good girl ;) I decided to just gather up a bunch of things I have here at home and make a costume!
1. Funeral Veil from Hot topic 2. My Lolita dress 3. A Lace arm-warmer 4. mary-jane ballet flats 5. Lots of dark makeup
I haven't quite thought of a name...but I suppose if someone asks me, I could say a Widow...Or someone at a funeral? haha
Oh! I have also made a halloween playlist for me and my friends to listen to as we munch on candy :D
So this is a little gift to you! I've added lots of stuff from The Nightmare Before Christmas, a bit from an anime show I Like (Vamire Knight rocks!!) and the main theme for The Corpse Bride (which is also the main song on my blog)
So, tell me what YOU are doing on this fine halloween day?!
I idolize him. I want to be a director one day...and his works make me dream in ways I could never imagine.
For my Tech Theater class, we have to do a project on a job we would want in Theater...I would've chosen actor. But instead I decided to choose Director. So we had to choose a famous director to use as an example in the project...so of course, it had to be Tim Burton.
Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (2005), The Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd, and (soon to be!) Alice In Wonderland...are only a few of his masterpieces.
Each one of these works has inspired me, and let me see the world in a different way. He creates fairytales in a completely unlikely way
Of course a story about a gentle man, with scissors for hands who falls in love with a normal girl and ends up destroying things without meaning to, is not your every-day-fairytale. But it's still a fairytale, and it's still beautiful.
His facination with misunderstood, lonely characters breaks my heart in all his movies...happy or sad ending.
His haunting music and unforgettable scenes make his movies simply magical.
The way that his mind works is unlike ANYONE else which makes him just so special to me...Thank you Mr. Burton, for changing my life in the simplest ways.
One of the most beautiful scenes I have EVER seen in any movie. It melts my heart and makes me feel as if part of me is in another world...
This is Tim Burton's first ever stop motion animation, and in fact, his first project EVER! I love it with a passion as it is somehow very artistic, and of course has alot to do with Edgar Allan Poe. It just shows how wild a child's mind is. How everything is just so big. And at the same time, another strange character, which I love :)
It goes perfectly with the song...and something about it is just soooo magical...the costumes, The way the lead singer (Brandon Flowers) looks when he sings. He has an amazing presence!
Isn't is interesting how they made the girl look so innocent? With all the makeup, and the hair...and yet somhow you can just tell she's not innocent at all...
By far one of my favorite videos of all time...It feels like a dream. It's so symbolic. It brings back 80s music with a modern twist...which is genius.
I used to hear this song on the radio alot. But after listening to it over and over for the past hour, It's taken over me...and after seeing the video...It's like finding a whole new world.
"Jealousy turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes 'Cause I'm Mr Brightside"
Well...the "about me" things are always hard...But I guess, I'm still a little girl learning new things every day, sometimes I'm scared and everything feels complicated, and sometimes I'm happy, and alive, and everything feels simple...I guess you could say I just enjoy living, and i try to cherish every moment of it.
xoxo
